MAKE WAVES

Playing our part in society

We try to do our bit in society. We talk at local schools, mentor young professionals and provide marketing workshops free of charge in the local community. This is fairly easy so we try to ‘Make Waves’.

‘Make Waves’ is our social responsibility programme which entails us giving one week of our time every year to projects that deliver real social value. No charge. No catch. It’s what we want to do. We’ve been fortunate enough to spend time with the likes of UK Sepsis Trust, Business in the Community, St Basils, Common Unity, UrBrum and Miss Macaroon. Great organisations full of great people doing great things.

Thank you on behalf of Business in the Community and all the delegates who attended your Branding Masterclass. The knowledge you imparted will be of great benefit to the organisations that attended which in turn will have a positive impact on the communities they work with.

Jayne Magee, Director of Operations, Business in the Community, West Midlands Region

Thank you for choosing to support St. Basils with your Make Waves initiative. You put so much effort and preparation into the day for us. We are very grateful. It was good for us to have the opportunity to have your professional advice which has encouraged us to re-look at how we position our brand in a number of ways.

Lucy Hackett, Head of Fundraising and Corporate Partnerships, St. Basils

Your advice really helped me clarify a few issues I’ve been wrestling with for some time in a straightforward and practical way. I’ve been able to apply a lot of what we discussed straight away and have now managed to package my business in a more streamlined way. Keep up the good work with Make Waves, great idea and once again thank you.

Caron Thompson, Managing Director, Common Unity

It was great! A very straightforward and hands-on session with a great group of poeple. I’m sure Old Print Works, our clients, our volunteers and our community will benefit from what I have learnt today.

Gabriel We, Manager, The Old Print Works, Balsall Heath

Really enjoyed the Masterclass. Very informative and at the right pace. Certainly makes you think of targeting customers and markets separately.

Deborah Slater, Development Worker, Birmingham Inner Circle Community Credit Union Ltd

If you’d like to be considered for Make Waves, please email a one-minute video (taken with a mobile phone is fine) outlining how you would use our time for social good. Your video needs to outline what knowledge or skills you would like to obtain and, more importantly, how you’d use this to help society.

The deadline for each year’s programme is 31st October. We can only contact successful applicants. If you have a project in mind, please mail your video. We’d be happy to hear from you.
