It’s very humbling and a real privilege that The University of Birmingham has asked Wavelength’s Managing Consultant, Darren Coleman, to take on a Postgraduate Ambassadorial role for the forthcoming academic year as part of the Universities external relations.

As a postgraduate Alumina of the Business School Darren will help prospective postgraduate students by answering questions they may have about what it is like to study at Birmingham and the broader postgraduate experience. A link to his page can be found here.

Kerrie Holland, Volunteer Relationship Manager for Development, Alumni, and Business Engagement at University of Birmingham outlines:

“The University of Birmingham have developed a Postgraduate Ambassador Scheme to give prospective students access to alumni ambassadors, who will answer questions and give an honest perspective on the highs and lows of postgraduate study.  We approached Darren to be a founder ambassador because he’s a great advocate of postgraduate study and an excellent representative of the University of Birmingham.  He has supported us in the past by speaking at the Postgraduate Open Day, lectures at the Birmingham Business School and we know he will be able to give invaluable advice to our prospective students. We’re very grateful for his help!”

Commenting on the appointment, Darren notes:

“Several years ago The University of Birmingham awarded me a fully funded PhD scholarship and a three year doctoral bursary. I’m eternally grateful for this.  It would not have been possible to complete my PhD otherwise.  I’m very pleased to support the University as best I can and look forward to hearing from prospective postgraduate students over the next twelve months.”
