We were recently invited to the capital to deliver a half day Brand Strategy Key Note Session for UCL Advances. The talk was part of UCL Advances business accelerator programme which provides a suit of support to start-up and pre-start-up enterprises.
The Brand Strategy Key Note session we ran helped attendees understand the principles of branding. A particular focus was placed on brand and key stakeholders’ values being aligned.
Omar Mohamed who holds an MSc in Mathematical Modeling from UCL noted:
“The workshop was really informative, I learned so many new things, now I understand brands are more than just a logo, everyone has their own value to a particular brand. Thanks for the recommendation for the book, it’s a great read. I plan on using what I learned to better tackle customer development and user journey. Breaking into teams also helped us with taking in what we learned.”
Darren Coleman, who delivered the Key Note session outlines:
“At our Brand Masterclasses or Key Note Sessions we encourage delegates to work in groups to facilitate interaction and application. This session was held in a lecture hall which created some challenges. No flipcharts, pens or Blu Tack in sight so we used the hash tag #UCLAdvancesbranding to facilitate interaction. Let’s just say there were some entertaining uses of this social media method! That said, using Twitter in this way did serve a purpose. It facilitated interaction and knowledge transfer. Key parts of any session we deliver.”
