Introducing Wavey, The Brains Behind Wavelength

At long last it felt like the right time to introduce a key member of the Wavelength team, Wavey. What better way of doing this than through his very own 2015 calendar that conveys a key brand-related message each month? We’re glad to say Wavey has been a real hit with clients.

Wavelength decided to team up with Italian illustrator supremo Claudio Naccari for some design inspiration who notes:

‘Creating Wavey’s calendar was great fun. He’s savvy and smart but, at the same time, very friendly, easy-going and insightful. This gives him a distinct personality. I found the face-to-face brainstorming sessions with Darren, Wavey’s creator, particularly productive. This helped me craft and refine Wavey’s character as we progressed through the creative process.’

Wavelength’s Darren Coleman notes:

‘I’m a firm believer in the power of brand stories shaped around personalities. These can be real or fictional. Just look at the longevity of the Green Giant and Michelin Man, whilst those mischievous yet lovable little Meerkats have worked wonders in the historically conservative insurance market. That’s why we wanted to create Wavey.

‘Wavey will be a fun way of conveying a number of serious brand-related messages. We decided to create a calendar for 2015 to give Wavey a voice. This was sent to 100 carefully selected clients who we wanted to say thank-you to. I’m delighted to say the feedback has been great. The only problem is we’ve been inundated with requests for more!’
