We were delighted to beat off strong competition to win an employer branding project with national recruitment firm Gleeson Recruitment. The project entails defining and developing the Gleeson brand to attract high calibre talent. A smart move in a historically competitive market.
Dan Birch, Head of Marketing at Gleeson Recruitment notes:
‘Gleeson Recruitment was looking to grow considerably in 2015 by building a strong employer brand, but we were concerned that we may lose our culture in the process. The problem was that we weren’t overly certain if we were on the right lines. It was a case of we didn’t know what we didn’t know.
‘We spoke to several branding agencies to discuss the project but Wavelength just slotted in perfectly. They’ve worked hard to understand our industry and our team, to really tease out who we were and what we could offer prospective employees via our employer brand. We’ve been thrilled with the results to date and the ideas that generated from those meetings are still shaping our strategy today.’
Wavelength’s Darren Coleman notes:
‘Ironically we’ve had very few clients in Birmingham. We feel this has been a function of the economic climate and Birmingham-based companies understanding brand in a different way to us. In addition to design and communications we provide niche service branding advice. We just haven’t experienced demand for this in Birmingham. However we expect that to change as the city grows and evolves.
‘During the first meeting it became apparent the Gleeson team wanted to build their brand so it could be a recruitment asset. Gleeson had a very clear sense of who they are and how they wanted to use their brand to attract employees. All the pieces of the puzzle were there. It just required some rejigging so it all slotted together. The guys at Gleeson are an incredibly refreshing, engaging and forward-thinking group of people. Just the type of client Wavelength wants to work with.’
