Wavelength plugs into some real bright SPARK’s at Bristol University

We were recently invited to run a Customer Profiling workshop as part of Bristol University’s SPARK programme.  SPARK is an enterprise ‘boot camp’ where students from a broad range of academic backgrounds develop business concepts and explore their commercial feasibility.

It’s a great mix of team work, creative thinking and key note speakers who participate in the week long programme. The event was held in the Universities wonderful orangery surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens.

Dave Jarman, Head of Enterprise Education at the University of Bristol:

“The students really enjoyed the Customer Profiling session Darren led and were totally engaged in trying to pin down some useful insights into their customers.  It was something that shone through in their final Dragons’ Den pitches and we’ve been returning to those ideas all year ourselves – working with further students who are trying to profile their audiences for their nascent ventures.  Highly recommended.”

Commenting on the session, Darren Coleman notes:

“They were a very engaging and inspiring group .  Some really interesting ideas started to take shape through the course of the morning that had commercial potential.  It was particularly pleasing to see the group latch onto techniques that address the challenge of customers potentially not knowing what they want or worse still saying they want something when that’s not actually the case!  This is a practical skill that has a broad number of applications which the delegates applied with aplomb. Given such a small number were studying business this was particuarly impressive”
